The game was designed with replayability and multiplayer in mind, This Means Warp encourages players to work together and think strategically during chaotic, real-time space battles, and adopt shrewd strategies as they steer their ships through an unforgiving, procedurally generated universe.
The game draws inspiration from roguelikes including FTL and games for parties like Overcooked This Means Warp sees players control crew members onboard the ship, operating various platforms, aiming weapons, making repairs, ultimately following a path through the dangerous space void.
To learn more about Jagex's decision to publish This Means Warp, we asked Outlier Games' founders Paul Froggatt and Matt Rathbun, and Lead Product Manager at Jagex, Robert Fox-Galassi on their thoughts on this new collaboration.
Like most indie game developers our start in the games industry began by experimenting with games and game ideas over a many years before deciding to create something that was playable!
